Abstract

This study aims: 1) To analyze the background of harmony among religious communities on the society multicultural in the village of Patoman, Rogojampi district, Banyuwangi regency; 2) Analyze form of harmony among religious communities on the community multicultural in the village of Patoman, Rogojampi district, Banyuwangi regency; 3) Analyze values character contained in peace between religion to the community multicultural in the village of Patoman, Rogojampi district, Banyuwangi regency. While methods used is the method qualitative research consisting of some stages, there is the determination of research, method of the determination of informants, data collection method, research Istrumen, method of testing the validity of data, and data analysis method. The research results show background harmony between religious in the village patoman can be seen from the perspective of islamic about tolerance; Hinduism with the teachings of Tat Twam Asi, Ahimsa, Tri Hita Karana, and Desa Kala Patra. With the doctrines of christianity with love; While in perspective religion buddhist there are the one is all and are all one. Besides the diversity of and multicultural the community in the Patoman can be maintained due to the existance of ideology pancasila as ideology unifying the people. As for the form of harmony between religious to the community multikultur in the village patoman includes: The inter religious and ethnic dialogue and cooperation between religion, believe and respect own religion and the others religion, And a prayer together. While value contained in multicultural the village community of patoman covering: Social value, sympathy, tolerance and empathy, religious, nationalism, mutual cooperation, democracy, Friendly/communicative, passion for the environment, peaceable, and socially responsible Keywords: Harmony, Among religion, the multicultural, and the value of a character
